Gov. Christie Receives Award For Contributions To Education Reform

Governor Chris Christie is in Philadelphia today to receive an award. The award he's receiving is for his work in education.

The Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) will present New Jersey Governor Chris Christie with the award.

Christie received the "Citizen of the Year" award for his contributions to education reform.

Governor Christie also spoke for the occasion. He emphasized the importance of opportunity and education, and stressed that it isn't a partisan issue.

CSFP will also present 2,000 four-year scholarships to students from low-income families.

CSFP provides scholarships to 4,500 children in kindergarten through 8th grade, who attend more than 180 diverse tuition-based schools around the Philadelphia area.
