Out & About On A Dolphin Safari

Posted: Updated:
Dana Point, CA -

When you think of going on a safari, chances are you imagine a trip driving through the desert. But did you know you can go on a water safari just a couple miles off the coast of Orange County?

Southern California has more blue whales and dolphins than anywhere else in the world and some of the best whale-watching weather year round. On any given day, you can embark on Captain Dave's Dolphin & Whale Safari in Dana Point to get up close with these incredible creatures of the sea. The high-tech catamaran sailboat features Eye to Eye Underwater Viewing Pods, a webbed bottom so you can see the animals right beneath your feet and plenty of fun (including a few splashes if you stand at the bow.)

They shared some videos with us too from their YouTube page--this one shows a dolphin stampede, where thousands of them dance through the water.

Dolphin Safari also had a close encounter with a giant Blue Whale, SEE HERE.

Captain Dave and his team have been recognized worldwide for their conservation and whale rescue efforts. Sale proceeds from Captain Dave's award-winning film "Wild Dolphins & Whales of Southern California" go toward funding dolphin and whale charities.
