Trenton, NJ -

The Trenton Thunder announced earlier today that their beloved bat dog, "Chase" has passed away at 13-years of age.

Chase That Golden Thunder was the pup's full name.  He entertained thousands and thousands of fans over the years as he ran around Arm and Hammer Park.  He has appeared in newspapers and magazines worldwide and in the July 2013 issue of Yankees Magazine.  Last month, Chase was honored at Yankee Stadium - the first dog to receive such accolades.

Chase was recently honored with a Retirement Party.  You can view the video tribute here:  VIDEO TRIBUTE

"Chase was such a tremendous part of the Trenton Thunder identity for more than 10 years," said Thunder General Manager Will Smith. "His presence at ARM & HAMMER Park or in the community was the epitome of the wholesome family entertainment for which we strive. Our ball players, staff, season ticket holders and all the men, women and children who he entertained and interacted with over the past decade will miss him dearly."

Chase is survived by his sons, Derby, who is with the Thunder, and Ollie, who is with the new Hampshire Fisher cats.

Fans wishing to offer their condolences are asked make a monetary donation in his name to Trenton Thunder Charities or a local animal shelter/pet rescue in their own community.
