Gabriel Cordell, a Long Island man who is paralyzed from the waist down, made a cross-country wheelchair ride to inspire people.

On Monday night, Cordell returned home to West Hempstead after being on the road for 99 days.

The long and grueling trip began in California, through 13 states with some 3,300 miles traveled.

Cordell was struck by a car at the age of 23 that left him permanently disabled. He turned to drugs after his accident.

"I want to give people hope that if you want something and put your mind to your potential the world will change," said Cordell.
