Coming off a major win in Las Vegas on Saturday, Ultimate Fighting Champion Chris Weidman returned to Good Day NY on Wednesday to talk about the fight against Anderson Silva.

"I feel great. I always imagined winning the belt. I made it as real as possible in my mind but to have it happen is surreal," said Weidman.

The father of two from Baldwin, Long Island and his wife were out of their home during superstorm Sandy, but that didn't stop him from training and preparing for the fight of his life.

"I always have a good mindset. Even with hurricane Sandy I never sat back feeling bad for myself."

With the All-Star break over and the second half of the MLB season well underway, the New York Mets (46-52 as of July 20) and the New York Yankees (50-47 as of July 20) find themselves in the same situations each team is accustomed to at this time of the season. The Yankees are in the middle of the AL East Division title while the Mets are scrapping for every win possible to stay relevant in the NL East. But while the record says one thing, reality says another.

Derek Jeter soaked in the adulation from fans and players during one more night on baseball's national stage, set the tone for the American League with a pregame speech and delivered two final All-Star hits. He received a 63-second standing ovation when he walked to the plate leading off the bottom of the first, another rousing cheer when he led off the third.
