Police report released in Officer Raetz's death

The man accused of killing Phoenix Police Officer Daryl Raetz in a hit-and-run crash appeared in court Friday.

Police say Jesus Cabrera Molina was drunk and high on cocaine when he killed Officer Raetz.

Phoenix Police released their report into the deadly accident on Friday. We learning more about what happened that night Officer Raetz was killed in the hit-and-run.

These are photos of what appears to be Officer Daryl Raetz's wedding ring cut in half. His uniform torn, his radio cord in pieces. Raetz's police ID was found feet away. These pictures give us an idea of just how much force that truck hit him with.

Friday, Jesus Molina had a hearing to set his trial date. Molina is the driver accused of hitting Raetz then speeding away without stopping to help.

According to records, Molina had been drinking and doing cocaine at a friend's house before getting behind the wheel. Raetz was directing traffic around a DUI traffic stop when the truck hit him.

Witnesses at the scene told investigators they heard a loud boom and thought a car hit the tow truck. Seconds later they realized Officer Raetz was on the ground.

Surveillance photos show Molina buying a Pepsi at a convenience store a few hours after Raetz was killed, driving the same truck. Hours later a Surprise Police Officer spotted the truck and stopped Molina.

Molina allegedly told that officer all that damage to his truck happened when he hit a tree off-roading.

Investigators matched parts found at scene to broken pieces on front end of truck. They also found blood underneath Molina's truck. Friends of Molina's told police he planned on selling his truck.

Molina is back in court next month for another hearing.
