Consignment sale provides funds to school

Posted: Updated:

Consignment stores have been popular for many years. But, what about one for your kids' school that could help fund your child's next on-campus program.

The idea is growing in popularity.

Amy cleaned out her child's closet, not to pack away, but to consign.

"I thought it was a great idea because it had an explanation, and I called them on the phone because when you hear about something new you really do want to research it," says mom Amy Meza.

Schoola is the website, and consignment is the means by which it gets all those dollars back to schools.

Amy was the first parent to pack up an envelope full of items at her daughter's school Hidden Hills Elementary.

She says, consigned by Schoola, all this could be worth between $20 and $100. And it all goes back to her daughter's school.

"You know exactly where it's going, it's going to schools you want it to go to."

Everything needs to be in by mid-August to start selling for the beginning of the school year. The company makes it easy, provides the envelope and pays the shipping.
