Friday, Detroit police officers, detectives and members of the Special Ops unit canvassed an area on the city's southwest side where a car was found a few days ago.

The vehicle, a blue 2006 Pontiac G6, was driven by 35-year-old Gavino Hernadez Roderguez.

However, the husband and father of two is nowhere to be found. Roderguez disappeared. No one has seen or heard from him since July 10.

"He works in Chestefield Township. He didn't return home that Wednesday evening," said Det. Sgt. Manny Gutierrez.

We have learned that Roderguez did make a stop after his shift.

"One bank transaction at a Chase Bank not in Detroit," Gutierrez said.

He has had no communication with his loved ones, which is completely out of character. His wife and so many others are sick with worry.

They formed a search team and started scouring the streets in their neighborhood and beyond looking for any clue that could lead them to him.

"The relatives ended up discovering the car in front 5295 Florida, and it was unoccupied," Gutierrez said.

Tara Ragland and her son, Joshua, live next door.

"The mechanic lives across the street. They always park their cars here. Within a couple hours he takes the cars into his yard. So I didn't think [anything] of it," Tara Ragland said.

However, the car sat there for three days.

"That car, it just kind of seemed suspicious after awhile, and then one day I woke up, brought the baby on the porch, and there were a bunch of cops everywhere," Joshua Ragland said.

Inside the car, cops uncovered trace evidence.

"It's very suspicious, possibly there's some foul play," Gutierrez said.

Police also said some of the items found inside of the vehicle do not belong to Roderguez or anyone in his family or any of his co-workers or friends.

Police could use your help. If you know anything at all about what happened, call 1-800-SPEAK-UP or detectives at (313) 596-5240.
