SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

Scottsdale Police officers have arrested a man who they was in the process of attempting to sexually assault and choke a former girlfriend.

Saturday morning, 26-year-old Isiah Scales climbed a tree and broke the window of the victim's second floor apartment, according to police.

A witness saw him climbing the tree and called it in to police. When officers arrived, they heard muffled screams coming from inside the apartment and made entry.

Scales was naked and he was taken into custody. Officers say he was trying to sexually assault and choke the woman before officers came in.

The victim refused medical treatment.

It turns out that the victim has an order of protection against Scales. In fact, police were called to the same apartment on Friday night because Scales was allegedly making threats to the victim.

He was arrested for violating the order and spent the night in jail before seeing a judge and being released on Saturday morning.

Scales is facing charges of aggravated harassment, failure to comply with a court order, disorderly conduct, assault, criminal damage, kidnapping, and criminal trespassing.
