FREDONIA, Ariz. -

Two people were killed in northern Arizona after being struck by lightning Tuesday at about 3 p.m.

Authorities say a man and woman were in the area of the LeFevre Scenic Overlook on Highway 89A, about eight miles north of Jacobs Lake, not far from Fredonia.

The man and woman were in a group of people at the overlook and were pronounced dead at the scene.

A teenage boy was also struck by lightning and knocked to the ground.  He was treated for non-life threatening injuries.  He is not associated with the victims.

The names of the man and woman who died are being withheld until relatives can be notified.

According to Coconino County Sheriff's officials, the victims lived outside the United States and were a couple, but their hometowns and ages weren't immediately available.
