Police searching for courteous crook

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -

If thugs got rewarded for being courteous, this robber would be a winner.

The man entered a west side Dollar General Sunday afternoon wearing dark sunglasses and a camouflage fishing hat. He walked up and down the aisles, seemingly waiting for the store to clear out. Then, he made his move.

As you can see in the video, he pulls a gun out of his pocket and points it at the cashier. Witnesses say he politely asked for money.

The thief waited patiently as the first cashier struggles to remove the key from around her neck and unlock the cash drawer. Without being asked, her coworker opens another drawer and puts the money tray on the counter.

The thief calmly cleared out the register, grabbing about $400. Then, he walked out the door, wishing the cashiers a good day.

If you recognize the man, call police.
