Weiner avoids talking to reporters for a change

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Under fire and defiant, mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner vows to stay in this race. Tuesday night and Wednesday he managed to dodge reporters' questions about his self-made sexting scandal.

To fight back, Weiner released this video on his campaign website reiterating his conviction to run.

Political consultants say with Weiner's popularity dwindling he can hardly afford any more scandals like the lewd revelations on Howard Stern from Weiner's sexting recipient Sydney Leathers.

That's why it was another blow when Weiner's communications director, Barbara Morgan, went on a foul-mouthed tirade about a former campaign intern who wrote an unflattering blog about the campaign. Morgan sent out a tweet sounding much like her repeatedly remorseful boss. With a picture of a swear jar filled with cash, she tweeted: "Not my best day yesterday. Should've known better, done better. Gotta pay up."

Some did share nice pictures, but others not so much. Some of the first pictures posted showed regular citizens standing with very friendly looking police officers.
