PHOENIX (AP) - A man accused of stealing an ambulance and crashing into multiple structures in Phoenix two years ago has been convicted in the case.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 30-year-old Travis Ward was found guilty Monday on one count of theft, one count of theft of means of transportation and two counts of criminal damage.

He's scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 9 and still is facing charges of criminal aggravated assault in a separate case.

Ward was arrested in July 2011 after taking a Phoenix Fire Department ambulance from the scene of a fire, going on a joyride and crashing into several houses, power poles and cars.

Ward later told police that he was under the influence of methamphetamines at the time and didn't know why he was driving the ambulance.
