Liz Habib Sports List: Lakers, Clippers & Dodgers on TV

Updated:

You aren't watching the Lakers anymore.  You can't watch the Dodgers...yet. But why aren't you watching the Clippers?!!!!!!

So I don't blame you,  you aren't watching the Lakers on TV anymore. The ratings for Laker games are down almost 50%.  No Kobe,  no Nash, no playoffs.  Why waste your time?

According to Variety, through mid-March, Los Angeles Lakers NBA games averaged 199,000 viewers on Time Warner Cable SportsNet, down a whopping 49% from last year. Last year the average was 390,000 viewers per game.

But here's what I don't get:

Again, according to Variety, you also aren't watching the Clippers.  Viewership has also declined double-digits for the Clippers, who have averaged 96,000 viewers on Fox Sports Prime Ticket — down 21% from last year when they averaged 121,000 viewers.

The Clippers are one of the best teams in the NBA and I think Blake Griffin should be in the discussion for MVP!  How and why aren't you watching this team!????

And while we're on the topic...

I know why you're not watching the Dodgers and I'm not happy about it either.  I am a Direct TV subscriber.  After Time Warner went to black on my TV during the SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!! I dumped them, and frankly I don't think I'll ever go back.  No matter what.  I'm just lucky I am a sports anchor at the FOX station in LA and we can tune in games from all over the world (for the most part) and so I can watch the Dodgers (when I'm working.)  I'm sorry if you can't.  I think it stinks.

Let me know what you think.

Officials say a 16-year-old boy is "lucky to be alive" and unharmed after flying from California to Hawaii stowed away in a plane's wheel well, surviving cold temperatures at 38,000 feet and a lack of oxygen. "Doesn't even remember the flight," FBI spokesman Tom Simon in Honolulu told The Associated Press on Sunday night. "It's amazing he survived that." The boy was questioned by the FBI after being discovered on the tarmac at the Maui airport Sunday morning with no identification, Simon said...
