MONROE COUNTY, Mich. (WJBK) -

Deputies in Monroe County are investigating a pair of violent home invasion robberies that targeted women in their homes.

In the first,  a 58-year-old woman was tied up and robbed after three men kicked in the door of her home on West 10th street in Monroe Township.  It happened after midnight Wednesday night.

The woman was bound with an extension cord and left in her room. The men who threatened her with a handgun and a knife then made off with money.

A short time later and not far away, three men kicked in the rear door of a 39-year old woman's home in Frenchtown Township.  Those men were also armed with a gun and a knife.  They demanded money and a phone from the woman.

The men also took a television and video game console from the victim's 16-year-old son.

Deputies are trying to determine if the two home invasions are related. Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff's department.
