Nakedness On Magazine Covers

Posted: Updated:

Today my gift to you on "The List" Nakedness in the form of our favorite magazine covers, and not the ones that come in brown paper sleeves.

Lake Bell and her current cover for New York Magazine's Fall Fashion Issue is what inspired this list.  The 34 year old actress is wearing a faux-tattoo designed by her tattoo-artist husband, and nothing else.

Here's Jennifer Aniston on the cover of GQ back in 2009.

She did this one on the eve of her 40th birthday.  It's recreating a pose she did more than 10 years earlier. People say she's able to be both sexy and sweet at the same time.

A different type of recreation for Lindsay Lohan on the 2008 cover of New York Magazine.  This is a recreation of the famous naked photos of Marilyn Monroe...The same photographer Bert Stern took these 50 years later of Lohan.

Again proving everything old is new again, Britney Spears posed nude for Harper's Bazaar in 2006 in this shot which was heavily inspired by Demi Moore's famous pose for Vanity Fair back in 1991. Inside the magazine she said "I still walk out of my house in rollers… I do not care what people think."

Heidi Klum clearly has no qualms about showing her skin.  Here she is on the cover of Jane magazine back in 2006.  She told the magazine she loves being naked and for that we are thankful!

This cover of Entertainment Weekly showcasing the Dixie Chicks came about in 2003 after the lead singer told a London audience she was ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."  They did this cover to show the absurdity of the extreme names they were being called at the time.

Who can forget this shot of Janet Jackson on the cover of Rolling Stone back in 1993.  It coincided with her fifth album title "janet" which announced her sexual maturity....I am thinking she announced it a bit more on the cover of the magazine.

And finally this shot of Yoko Ono and John Lennon on the 1981 cover of Rolling Stone shot by Annie Leibovitz.   Five hours after the infamous photo shoot, John Lennon was shot and killed by a fan in front of his Manhattan apartment.

Thanks to Daily Beast for reminding us of all these photos. They have even more on their website.
