Search warrants released Wednesday from San Diego County suggest law enforcement had plenty of reason to be worried about 16 year old Hannah Anderson. First there were the details at DiMaggio's burned house. Two firefighters discovered the body of Hannah's mom under a green tarp in the garage. They could see Christina Anderson's feet sticking out of the tarp. There was a crowbar next to her and what appeared to be "blood on the ground next to the head." There was also a brown dog in the garage. The animal was shot dead. In the burned out house, law enforcement found the burnt remains of a small child. It turned out to be 8 year old Ethan Anderson, but he was burned so badly, it was days before his identity was confirmed.
The search warrants also revealed that DiMaggio and Hannah exchanged approximately 13 calls. In the warrants, a mention that a friend of Hannah's said the two would take day trips together, including a recent one to Malibu and Hollywood. Hannah was at cheerleading practice and picked up around 4pm. Phone records showed that was also around the time both Hannah and DiMaggio turned off their phones.
But the San Diego Sheriff was emphatic that Hannah was a "victim in every sense of the word."
The warrants included requests to tap and trace DiMaggio and Anderson's mobile phones, their Facebook and email accounts. And, apparently, DiMaggio's sister Lora was under suspicion for a time. The warrants stating that there was an unusual number of phone calls between the two the day of the crime.
Other developments in the Hannah Anderson kidnapping case.. DiMaggio's autopsy showed he was shot at least five time including one shot to the head. And, that ask.fm "chat" supposedly with Hannah Anderson? That page has been taken down. I did notice however that today Hannah changed her profile picture on her Facebook page. Now, in addition to her pic, the background shot is of her mom and her brother. Clearly, she's someone who will need time to process and heal.
