HATBORO, Pa. -

One person is dead after a getting struck by a car in Montgomery County.

It happened along North York and James roads in Hatboro around 12:15 a.m. Monday.

Police say the vehicle hit two people. One died on the street, while the other was rushed to Abington Memorial Hospital.

The driver stopped at the scene, was interviewed and was later allowed to leave.

Their identities, names and ages were not immediately released.

It's not clear if the pedestrians were walking in the street, which has sidewalks on both sides, or attempting to cross the four-lane section of North York Road. Signs say the speed limit there is reduced to 25 mph.

Officers are investigating. The road was closed for hours but was back open Monday morning.

FOX 29's Stephanie Esposito has more details in this live report from the scene.
