Website Connects Caring Teachers With Giving Public

Posted: Updated:

With the budgets cuts in school districts all over our area, our teachers need help getting the materials they need for school.

Items like books, pens, pencils, furniture and music instruments are in high demand.

Lisa Garrison, a teacher at Elkins Park School, was out guest on Good day this morning to talk about the awesome website, donorschoose.org.

Oprah called this organization, "A revolutionary charity."

this site is a place for teachers to post what items they need for their classrooms and you can help.

It is simple and all you have to do is click on their website and plug in a zip code.

You will find lots of posts from caring teachers.

PLUS: Do not forgot, Fox 29 is holding it's annual Help FOX 29 "stuff the Bus" for local school kids in need, Wednesday, August 28th.

Come on down to the studio at 4th and Market Streets in Philadelphia from 7 to 10am during "Good Day Philadelphia" to donate back-to-school supplies for local children in low-income households.
