Today on "The List" we're talking about respect. So of course I feel the need for a little Rodney Dangerfield here (did i just date myself?) I can just hear him saying "I can't get no respect"! That's got to be what some of these companies are thinking right about now.
A survey was just done by CoreBrand, a firm that researches branding and its impact on businesses. They looked at companies we're all familiar with and asked business people their opinions on how favorably they viewed the firms.
The companies had to be publicly traded for atleast five years and The ratings were based on a company's reputation, how people view its management, and how promising it is as an investment.
We have both sides of the spectrum here, those companies that are most respected followed by those that are the least respected.
We begin with the good, and that's the respected companies, starting at number five with:
5. Johnson & Johnson 4. Bayer 3. Harley-Davidson 2. Hershey's And it's a tie for the most respected companies, that goes to... 1. Pepsi-Cola and Coca-Cola
Now for the least respected starting at number... 5. Big Lots 4. Denny's 3. H&R Block And this is where it gets interesting at number 2 - Philip Morris, the tobacco company has more respect than... 1. Delta Air Lines which tops the list of the least respected companies.
