Ex-personal care home owner pleads guilty to Medicaid fraud

Posted: Updated:
MCDONOUGH, Ga. -

The owner of a troubled personal care home admits she lied to get Medicaid money.

Last summer, the FOX 5 I-Team paid an undercover visit to Walnut Creek Manor in McDonough.

Former employees told the FOX 5 I-Team and state regulators that Walnut Creek's administrator, Madeline Laruy, forced them to give clients powerful narcotics that were not prescribed for them -- leftover drugs from other patients who had died or moved away.

Laruy lost her license in the wake of that case, and now she's headed to prison after pleading guilty to Medicaid fraud.
