Most Embarrassing Sports Injuries Ever

Posted: Updated:

In honor of sports guy Steve Mason filling in for Steve Edwards today on "Good Day L.A." we decided to go with a sports theme for "The List" specifically the most embarrassing sports injuries ever.

We begin with Bill and Martín Gramática during the actual game the play by play guy got it wrong it was martin's brother bill who tore his a-c-l celebrating a game winning field goal and he was out the rest of the season.

For out next example, he could run, but perhaps he was not the smartest quarterback ever, the Redskins Gustave "Gus" Frerotte celebrates the touchdown by headbutting the wall and that earned him a trip to the hospital with a sprained neck and a legacy he would rather forget.
Angels fans will never forget this one back in May 2010...Kendrys Morales with a walk off grand slam and then the traditional jump on home plate which caused a terrible fracture in his leg!  He missed nearly 2 years and the angels instituted a team policy forbidding players to jump on home plate.

This happened a couple months ago hitting a little to close to home and our Steve Edwards is still limping. All in the line of duty, he suffered a groin injury when tackled by members of the lingerie football league.  True pro that he is, he stayed in the game.

Which brings us to our final example: Sports talk show host Steve Mason apparently attempting to set the world record for the lowest high jump on his fox sports show.  He tripped, landed awkwardly and you're going to feel bad for laughing when i tell you that he hurt his heel.  Really hurt his heel. A viewer actually called the paramedics who showed up and tended to Steve while he continued the broadcast. Afterwards he went to the hospital for surgery.
Here's the good news, and I really hope you click on the link to watch our story that aired on Good Day L.A....cause Steve recovered well enough to entertain us with this dance, and we're not laughing with him, we're laughing at him!  Enjoy and happy Friday!  See you next week!
