It had all the elements of a classic LA night: gourmet food, "star chefs" and thumping music, in the shadow of the iconic Disney Concert Hall. Welcome to the Los Angeles Food and Wine Festival!
This was my first experience at the annual event. And it was great-- from the moment my stilettos hit the ground! I found the experience to be part food and wine tasting-- with Hollywood glam-- and a club vibe too!
My friend and I worked the room. In this case, it meant floating from booth to booth to sample some of the most delicious "small plates" prepared by some of the country's most renowned chefs. This festival features the culinary achievements of more than 100 chefs and 100 wineries.
I enjoyed a beautiful night under the full moon sipping wine and savoring bites! Some of my favorite moments? I loved the chicken dumpling prepared in the kitchen of star chef-- Giada De Laurentiis. Another fave was an appetizer that featured tomatoes and caviar. And a lovely Justin Burgundy hit all the right notes!
I hope you will have the opportunity to check out the festival. It runs through Sunday and can be found in several locations. Prices range from a sensible fifty dollars all the way to the spendy tickets- $995 dollars- for access to everything!
