Warehouse club shopping with an app

It's hard to avoid the long lines and heavy carts at wholesale shopping clubs like Costco.

Introducing an app called Boxed. Creator Chieh Huang says you can order wholesale bulk items right to your front door. But in such a saturated marketplace, Huang says this app's edge is extra value.

"The price doesn't seem as cheap as going to Duane Reade, but if you break it down into how many units you're actually getting, or how big the item is, we're significantly cheaper than the convenience store and most things online," Huang says.

He says the process is simple.

"Just click on a product, add to cart, item is added to cart, I can view my cart," Huang says. "This funny little icon here tells us how much you're saving and why you're saving, and then you can start the checkout process.

Shipping is free for orders over $75, otherwise it's $6.99. There's no membership fee, a deal that some wholesale club shoppers say they'd gladly sign up for.

Boxed ships to 12 states, but the company said it is adding more every day. Right now the app is available on the iPhone and should be available on Android in September.

And figure skater Johnny Weir is insisting on one as part of his post-nuptial agreement. What is it? A digital privacy clause. New York City divorce lawyer Bettina Hindin says once you push "send" someone can find it.
