ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are searching for an elderly man who went missing Thursday from his northwest suburban home.

Eugene Jonsson, 84, left his home at 7:45 p.m. to go to a nearby restaurant, according to a release from Arlington Heights police.

Police do not suspect foul play, but are asking for the public's help in finding Jonsson. Although he does not have any known medical conditions, he has recently gotten lost while driving.

His vehicle, a gray 2004 Buick LeSabre with Illinois plates JONS507, was last seen in Kendall County at 12:45 a.m. Friday, police said, when Jonsson stopped in Yorkville and he asked for directions to Ogden Avenue and Route 59 in Naperville.

Jonsson is described as a 5-foot-10, 190-pound white man with gray hair, blue eyes and eyeglasses.

Anyone with information should call detectives at (847) 368-5348.
