HELEN, Ga. -

Somebody's having a very special birthday this year. Helen, Georgia, is turning the big 1-0-0!

Widely regarded as "Georgia's favorite Alpine Village," Helen is celebrating its centennial benchmark with a string of exciting activities honoring its unique history.  And, Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken is giving you a front-row seat!

You may not know, but Helen was revitalized from a remote mountain community in the 1960's to a replica of a quaint Alpine Village located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The scenic site is located about 15 miles from Highway 365/I-985 and an hour-and-a half north of Atlanta via I-85 or GA Hwy. 400.
