ATLANTA -

One minute, Consuela Tippins was celebrating with friends inside a Buckhead bar.  The next, she was being told she'd never walk again.  Friends say Tippins was dancing in the bar with a man she didn't know when he picked her up and dropped her on her head, leaving her paralyzed.

It all happened inside Wet Willie's on Piedmont Road in Buckhead, where Tippins, 38, was helping celebrate a friend's birthday.  Her friends say the man picked her up and then lost his balance.  She landed on her head and blacked out, and has been hospitalized at the Shepherd Center for two and a half weeks following the accident.

After Tippins fell, the man ran out of the bar.  Her friends say they still don't know who he is.

Friends and family came together Tuesday night in an effort to help Tippins.  They say she's somehow staying positive.  They say they know her as a very happy, outgoing young woman.

Her friends say when they visit Tippins, they don't talk about that night or what happened.  Instead, they talk about the future, and Tippins tells them if she's still living, she knows God has a plan for her—whether she walks again or not.

According to friends, Tippins is looking forward to coming home to her four children.  Her youngest is just 5 years old.

Tippins' friends are planning a fundraiser for her this Saturday.  It will be held at Faith, Hope and Deliverance Temple, located at 759 Joseph E. Boone Blvd. NW, from 11 am to 3 pm.  All of the money raised will go to Tippins' medical bills, and to help transform her home for her arrival.
