Police: Northville man, 19, fatally shot in Oak Park

OAK PARK, Mich. (WJBK) -

Police in Oak Park are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life a 19-year-old Northville man.

Officers responded overnight to reports of shots fired in the area of Stratford Court, near 9 Mile Road and Greenfield.

Upon arrival, they discovered the body of the 19-year-old victim on the grounds of Dewey Park, FOX 2's Maurielle Lue reports. His identity was not released.

Witnesses tell FOX 2 the victim may have shot during an attempted carjacking.

Police would not comment on the circumstances leading up to the shooting. Police have no suspects in custody and they remain on the scene as the investigation continues.
