Police Need Your Help In Finding A Missing Placentia Woman

Posted: Updated:

"She's my only daughter, she's my only family in California," said Doug Johnson, who can't find the words to describe his emotions, his 24-year-old daughter Shameca Johnson disappeared without a trace more than a week ago.

There was no call, no note, nothing.  "This is completely opposite of her character," said Doug.

The Placentia Police Department set up a command post as volunteers put up flyers and photos in Fullerton, Brea and Placentia.

Shameca, who worked at Sports Chalet in Brea, was last seen on August 20th, leaving the home she shares with roommates on Sierra Bonita in Placentia.  "She likes to get off the grid, she likes to go camping. But it's usually with people, it's with friends, it's for a day. She'll go hiking for a day and come back," explained her roommates.

Shameca's parents don't believe she would leave on her own for this long and Police agree it's unlikely.

"She has limited resources, she's on foot. We've contacted most of the major transportation carriers, bus lines trains, planes, it doesn't appear that she has bought a ticket," said Detective Corinne Loomis of the Placentia Police.

Shameca is 24, has red hair and brown eyes, she's 5'3 and weighs 105 lbs.

"We just want to see her and hug her and love her and if she needs some help she's got tons of people that are willing to give it to her," her mom, Wendy Hinman told Fox 11.

Anyone with information is asked to call Placentia Police.
