Playing A Comic Book Superhero

Posted: Updated:

It was just announced that James Spader will face off against the earth's mightiest heroes as the villian in the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" that's the sequel to 2012's recording breaking "The Avengers" which made 1.5 billion dollars worldwide. Spader will play "Ultron" and you can look for the movie in May of 2015.

And while I don't know what Spader will be making, it got us thinking about superhero role paydays, we do have some insight on what the going rate has been in the past to play a comic book superhero…and that's the focus of ‘The List' today.

Starting with Ben Affleck…while we don't know what he'll be paid to play Batman in the upcoming 'Superman' movie....we do know that when he starred as the Daredevil, he made 12-and-a-half-million dollars.

At number FIVE: Will Smith made twenty million dollars for his starring role in ‘Hancock'.

At number FOUR: Arnold Schwarzenegger made 25-million dollars for his role as "Mister Freeze" in ‘Batman And Robin'.

Christian Bale comes in at number THREE: He made 30-million dollars for his role as batman in ‘The Dark Knight'.

At number TWO: Robert Downey Jr... He made fifty million for ‘The Avengers'.

And at number ONE: A bit of a surprise: Jack Nicholson made 60-million dollars for his role as "The Joker" in ‘Batman'. And here's the thing...the guy who played Batman, Michael Keaton only received in the ten million dollar range.
