CBP rescues injured man living in US illegally from desert

TUCSON, Ariz. -

A seriously injured man living in the US illegally was rescued from the desert in southern Arizona on Friday.

Customs and Border Patrol's Tucson Air Branch was called by Ajo Border Patrol to help a man who reportedly fell while hiking through mountains in the desert.

He had a head injury and a broken pelvis.

A helicopter landed in the Growler Pass area and crews gave the man emergency care before he was airlifted to an ambulance.
