Zoo Atlanta offering free admission to educators

ATLANTA (AP) - Zoo Atlanta is planning to show its appreciation to teachers and other school staff by offering them free admission.

Zoo officials say their semiannual Educator Appreciation Day is Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and guests of teachers and other school employees will also be offered $2 off of their admission.

Department of Early Care and Learning Commissioner Bobby Cagle says Educator Appreciation day is an opportunity for teachers and their guests to visit the zoo's Educator Lounge for private visits with animals and educational sessions from Zoo Atlanta staff members.

Officials say identification in the form of a photo ID, a pay stub or employee badge is required.
