Witnesses testify against Robert (Bob) Bashara to determine if there's enough evidence to charge Bob for first-degree murder of his wife, Jane.

Tuesday, Wayne County Medical Examiner Dr. Francisco Diaz took the stand, detailing the suffering Jane endured before her death.

Dr. Diaz says, "It was not an instantaneous death."

Prosecutors also detailed extensive phone records.

Those records show Bob called Joe Gentz 472 times from the end of September 2011 until the end of January 2012. However, records also show Bob called Jane and his girlfriend, Rachel Gillett, more often than that.

But it's the phone records on the day before and the morning of Jane's murder that prosecutors are interested in.

Records show Bob repeatedly called Gentz 23 the day before Jane's murder. The day of her murder, Bob called Gentz five times, and called Gillett. Once the news broke that Jane was missing, Bob claims to have called her dozens of times trying to find her - but those records show that's not true.

Jane's phone received 91 calls the night of her disappearance, but only six were from Bob. Four calls were made to Jane's cell phone from the Bashara family's land line, and two calls were made from Bob's cell phone.

Records also show Bob called Gillett twice from his home phone during that time, and cell phone records show he was actively engaged in courting a woman from Oregon.

Prosecutors believe that woman was also a part of the alternate sexual lifestyle Bob was seeking with Gillett due to the type of text messages sent back and forth between the two.
