Attempted Child Abduction Reported In Bucks County

Posted: Updated:
EAST ROCKHILL TWP., Pa. -

Parents, listen up. There's been another report of an attempted abduction in Bucks County. This latest one happened near Pine Court and Campus Drive in East Rockhill Township. Two young boys said a they saw a suspicious van there.

Neighbors tell FOX 29 that there are lots of kids who play on the cul de sac each night, so just imagine their reactions when they heard that last night that two guys in a truck may have tried to abduct two little boys.

"I want to put my child in a bubble. It's scary out there. You never know what's gonna happen," said Jodie Signs, a mother.

Pine Court and Campus Circle are a block away from Penn Ridge High School in a quiet neighborhood where the basketball net on the cul de sac drew two eleven year old boys last night around 8 p.m.

"It was a white van, no windows on the side, no window on the back," said Chief David Mettin of Pennridge Regional Police. "Apparently, it was occupied by two males. The one passenger male asked one of the boys, ‘ did you see my dog?' With that, the driver exited the van. The two boys ran off."

"Got an email this morning says: There was a possible luring at the end of our development. I was surprised," said Janell Sauder, a mom.

The Pennridge school district contacted parents by email to let them know about the van. As for the two men inside, the boys say they were tough to see.

"They really couldn't see the people that were inside the van due to the tinted windows. Apparently, the windows up front were little darker than the other ones in the back and the little boys didn't see," said Chief Mettin.

Earlier this week there was a similar story from kids in Morrisville, which is in lower Bucks County. Pennridge Police tell FOX 29 that they exchanged reports with the Morrisville police. Though they are similar, police don't think the two incidents are related.
