Police: 4 magazine salesmen held in carjacking

Posted: Updated:

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Police say four magazine salesmen from out of state carjacked a man at a suburban Detroit grocery store and stabbed another person during a robbery.

The Detroit Free Press reports the men in their 20s were arrested this week in Detroit, where the stabbing took place. Police say they had been in Michigan for about two months and are being held pending charges in Detroit and Oakland County's Bloomfield Township.

Police say the men were ticketed Sunday by Bloomfield Hills police for soliciting without a license and later that day carjacked a man in nearby Bloomfield Township. Police arrested two men at a home in Detroit and two others at a motel in the city.

Names weren't immediately released. The stolen vehicle was found abandoned on Detroit's west side.
