Google Inc. is working to restore Gmail service to users after reports of delays in sending and receiving email.
Gmail service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users in the near future. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change," Google posted in an apps status update at 7 p.m. "Gmail message delivery delays and attachment download issues have been corrected for most affected users. A majority of the delivery backlog has also been cleared. We hope to clear the backlog completely in the very near future.
Earlier, the company noted that the problems were affecting "less than 50% of Gmail users."
As with any technical problems, users took to social media to vent frustration about the delays."I'm loving today's gmail delays (really). They should let you opt in to a "permanent delay" function," Arianna Huffington Tweeted Monday afternoon.
