ALPHARETTA, Ga. -

The suspect wanted for shooting a man at the Planter's Ridge subdivision managed to flee the scene Tuesday morning, authorities said. The victim, who was shot multiple times, was listed in stable condition.

Police conducted a search for the gunman from about 5 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Their efforts included closing off the entrance to the subdivision, which is located near Planter's Ridge Lane.

Alpharetta police spokesperson George Gordon says the victim was found in a front parking area in the 1500 block of Planters Ridge Lane. He was transported to North Fulton Hospital and taken to surgery, police said.

Authorities have not released the victim's name or commented on what led to the shooting. He is expected to recover, police said.

The search for the suspect is ongoing.
