DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

The Garza-Rosas family's 1996 green Plymouth Breeze, lovingly named "Raquel," was discovered stolen Wednesday morning. The family relied on the car to take them to several doctor appointments each week.

"My daughter is diabetic. I've had strokes, heart attacks, knee surgery - we need a vehicle," Grandmother Laurie Garza explains to Fox 2's Maurielle Lue. Two of her four grandchildren also have mental disabilities, and little Lorena Rosas has a brain cyst that requires constant care.

"Raquel used to go very fast. He's a good car, and he was green and shiny," Lorena Rosas shares. The family attended several physical, occupational and speech therapy sessions, as well as psychological appointments each week for the girl. Now the family is left with no car, and no plan B.

Garza shares her frustration. "The handicapped flag was right there hanging from the mirror, so they knew it was [the car of] a handicapped person." Her daughter's walking cane is also now gone, stolen along with the vehicle.

Anyone with information contact Detroit Police.
