The University of Southern California is getting some recognition from Playboy magazine, not for its academics, but more so for being one of the places to party.
But those aren't the only party days at USC, the Trojans are gaining notoriety for letting loose. Playboy magazine ranks the University fourth out of the top ten party schools in the country.
Student Austin Rios says, "I think it's pretty spot on we have a good track record for partying, I like it a lot."
USC is the only California university to make the list and many students on campus aren't surprised at the high ranking.
Student Casey Nichol says he likes the recognition, "It is awesome here," another student, Christina Rouse says, "I think a lot of people definitely do party but the academics here are getting better and better every year so I think that's also something the school is focusing in on."
The school has an active Greek life, according to US News and World Report, 25.3% of men and 20.8% of women are members of a fraternity or sorority. USC is cracking down on crime and public drinking on Greek Row, now the LAPD will be patrolling the are an, in addition to the school's department of public safety, to better enforce intoxication laws and ensure safety.
Student Eun Jee Kim, says, "I feel it's safe, I always see security guards around here and dps patrolling, so I never felt unsafe."
With tuition at roughly 46-thousand dollars a year, parents may want academics to be the key focus.
But student, Chase Rados, says, "no we still have a good time."
The magazine used information from the national center for educational studies, the ncaa, the census and input from social media to compile the list.
The top party school in the country according to Playboy, West Virginia University.
