'Simpsons' to kill off main character

Posted: Updated:

(AP) — There will be one less main character on "The Simpsons" by the end of the season. One of them is going to die. The Los Angeles Times says executive producer Al Jean told reporters in a conference call that they're working on a script "where a character will pass away."

He says the actor won an Emmy for voicing that character. That isn't much of a clue. The entire main cast and some guest voices have won Emmys.

The last character to die on the Simpsons was Maude Flanders.

The 25th season of The Simpsons starts this Sunday night on Fox 5.
