Today we're looking at Twitter for "The List" and what Twitter believes to be their most important Tweets.

Yesterday the micro-blogging service filed it's IPO papers which puts it on course for a November stock market debut.

In doing so we found out a lot about the company...For one, there have been 300-billion tweets and they included some they felt were most important.

  • At number five, this tweet about Hurricane Sandy from Mayor Michael Bloomberg saying the water was safe to drink.
  • At number four, this one from the Mars Phoenix they found ice on Mars.
  • At number three, this photo showing what became known as the Miracle on the Hudson.
  • At number two, WE've got a baby! The announcement from the Clarence House Account that the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a baby boy!
  • And at number one, this great photo sent from Barack Obama's account celebrating last years election! Four more years!

According to various reports, Twitter said in the filing that it plans to raise as much as $1 billion and the stock ticker will be TWTR. The public filing marks the next step in what is the most important technology IPO since Facebook's flawed market debut in 2012.

Twitter has become a powerful way to share information, it's used by everyone from heads of corporation, to the President of the United States and even of course kids. In fact according to the papers filed Twitter now says it has 215 million monthly active users, with 100 million of those deemed "daily active users" by the company.
