TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) - Tuskegee Mayor Johnny Ford says an arrest has been made in connection with the shooting death of a university student gunned down at a party last weekend.

Ford said in a statement late Thursday that police arrested 22-year-old Kentavious Holland of Brownville and took him to the Macon County jail. It wasn't immediately known what charges are pending and whether Holland has retained an attorney.

Bobby Smith, a finance major who played for Tuskegee University's tennis team, was killed in the Sept. 27 shooting. Smith was a 21-year-old from the Atlanta suburb of Mableton and a 2010 graduate of South Cobb High.

Friends have said Smith was the father of an infant. School officials say a scholarship will be set up in Smith's name.
