ATLANTA (AP) - Airport officials say the Atlanta Fire Rescue department will be conducting fire training exercises at the facility three times this month.
Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport officials say fire crews will conduct simulated plane fire exercises at the airport Oct. 8, Oct. 15 and Oct. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Officials say the exercises may produce clouds of dark smoke near the airport that can be seen from high-rise buildings and the interstate.
Airport officials say the training is part of an annual certification program for airport rescue firefighters.
