Metra moving again after bomb threat delays Union Pacific North line

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A bomb threat halted Metra trains on the Union Pacific North line near the Rogers Park station for about 30 minutes Tuesday morning.

Officials stopped inbound and outbound trains near the station from about 6:55 a.m. until police gave clearance for trains to move again, Metra spokesman Tom Miller said.

About 5:56 a.m. police received "some type of hand-scribbled note" indicating there was a bomb at the station, said police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.

Trains resumed service at the station about 7:25 a.m., Miller said.
