Senior White House Advisor Under Fire For Twitter Typo

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON, D.C. -

One White House official is probably going to pay a little bit more attention to what he tweets.

Senior White House advisor, Dan Pfeiffer, was tweeting a New York Times reporter yesterday when he sent a message, with an unfortunate spelling error.

The two-part tweet read, "@jmartNYT it's a very smart point and massive factor in political polarization…also a much n*gger factor on the right."

Pfeiffer says he meant to write the word "bigger," but he says he accidentally hit the "n" button, instead of "b". The two buttons are right next to each other.

People on twitter started accusing Pfeiffer of being racist, saying his phone's auto-correct should have picked up the mistake, unless he types it often.

Pfeiffer apologized, saying, "Obviously a horrendous typo in my previous tweet. My apologies."

The responses to his apology have been largely unsympathetic, but mixed with humor. One twitter user by the name of "jakerome" replied, "My bigger!" Moe Lane replied, "Or you just hate minorities, and you know that the Left will forgive you for hating conservative ones."
