Griffin Claw Brewery's beer can chicken

In celebration of Oktoberfest, Griffin Claw Brewery in Birmingham will be one of the breweries taking part in Royal Oak Beer Fest on Oct. 12.

The event runs from 7-11 p.m. at the Royal Oak Farmer's Market. Tickets start at $35.

Griffin Claw Brewing Company Beer Can Chicken

Ingredients:
1 each 3 1/2 lbs whole chicken
2 oz Olive Oil
1 branch fresh rosemary
Salt and pepper
1 16 oz can Griffin Claw Brewing Company's Norm's Raggedy Ass IPA, Grind Line Pale Ale or Screamin' Pumpkin work best
(each beer style gives a different flavor profile)
1/4 cup Creole mustard

Open the beer can and place it in the chicken stand. (The stand can be bought at Home Depot) rub the chicken with the oil, salt, pepper and chopped rosemary. Then invert the cavity of the bird onto the stand. Place in a 350 oven for a half hour. After a half hour pull the bird out and brush with the creole mustard and finish in the oven for about another 15 minutes or until a internal temperature of 165. Carefully pull  the bird off the stand and cut in half and serve.
