Vatican Recalls Coins After Misspelling "Jesus"

Here's something you may never thought you'd hear: The Vatican misspells the word "Jesus!"

Some 6,000 gold, silver, and bronze medals to commemorate Pope Francis have been recalled because there was a misspelling in a Latin phrase that turned Jesus into "Lesus."

The Latin phrase, when translated into English means, "Jesus, therefore, saw the publican, and because he saw by having mercy and by choosing, He said to him, ‘Follow me.'"

The typo caused the first and most important word in the phrase to have an "L" instead of a "J" as the first letter.

The medals were made by the Italian State Mint. The mistake wasn't noticed right away either. Several coins were sold before the recall was issued.

On the QWERTY keyboard, the J and L letters are separated by the k.
