Tasha Smith: I Had This Dream To Be An Actress

Posted: Updated:

Even when Tasha Smith's life was at the lowest of low points, she was she was an optimist.  Or, to play off the title of her comedy series, even when things were worst, she knew they'd get better.

Tasha stars in Tyler Perry's "For Better Or Worse," which is now in its third season, its first on the Oprah Winfrey Network.

But before she hit it big as an actress and comic, Tasha was homeless for a time.  "The lowest point was sleeping in my car at Venice Beach, Tasha tells Steve Edwards and Lisa Breckenridge on Good Day L.A.  "Thank God I could afford a little car.  "I slept in it for several months."

"I would wash up at the beach," Tasha continues, "but what inspired me and kept me going was the fact that I had this dream to be an actress, to be a comedian and I just said, 'If this is my sacrifice then I'm gonna do it and see if it comes true."

Which it did.  In a very big way.
