Study: Women need alone time

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Women need alone time. This is not a personal observation, but instead the results of a study, which evidently surprised no one. The study also showed that the majority of women might lie (75 percent polled), hide (83 percent), or forgo sex (76 percent) just to secure a little me-time.

"In fact, women really especially when they're married with kids and working, they don't even have time to think their own thoughts," says Dr. Robi Ludwig, a psychotherapist.

But even once achieved, no alone time remains completely secure.

"It's harder for them to give to themselves because they often feel guilty," Ludwig says. "If everybody needs me, I need to be there for everybody and I shouldn't take time for myself."

So while the female world may remain a mystery to many of us, Ludwig offers some free professional advice.

"If you want to be a popular husband, boyfriend, significant other, offering the woman in your life some time alone, offering it to her as a gift would be very well received," she says.

So next time your girlfriend, wife, mother, sister, or female anyone in your life disappears don't go looking for her. It's best for everyone that she be alone.
