First Snow On A Road Trip To The Eastern Sierra Mountains

Posted: Updated:

I am on a road trip to catch the last Fall Colors in the Eastern Sierra. After shooting around Mono Lake, I stayed the night in Lee Vining. I had planned to cross the Sierras into Yosemite Valley.

When I awoke this morning it was snowing. The passes were closed. The local kids were having a blast playing the snow. Here are images I captured in Lee Vining and heading south on the June lake loop.

As I drive through the town of June Lake, It's 25 degrees outside. People are just starring to shovel the snow and scrape their windshields.  If your coming up, you better bring your chains. It's worth the trip though. The aspens are looking good with the golden fall colored leaves trimmed in a light dusting of snow.

A photographers paradise indeed.
